Senior Analyst (full time role)

Job Description

Newmarket Strategy is a new healthcare market access and health policy consultancy. We are looking for a bright and committed senior analyst to join our dynamic and growing team in central London.

This role is perfect for people with a real interest in healthcare innovation and the life sciences industry, with approximately one to two years’ experience in a relevant role.

About the role

You will act as vital support to Newmarket’s team of consultants across a wide variety of clients and projects. The role will initially be research focused, with an expectation that you would progress to support directly on client accounts within a few months. Some core responsibilities include:

  • Drafting reports and research notes on a wide range of healthcare topics
  • Writing letters and managing outreach to key stakeholders across the life sciences sector
  • Policy and technical market access research
  • Monitoring and intelligence gathering from both online and other sources
  • Stakeholder mapping; identifying and listing relevant individuals (e.g. NHS decision-makers or, say, breast cancer surgeons in England)
  • Implementation of client programmes with senior managers
  • Organisation of client meetings and managing follow up
  • Supporting in the development of new business opportunities
  • Supporting Newmarket Strategy’s online presence and social media accounts.

You will receive exposure to, and guidance from senior directors from the very beginning, to help you reach your potential. As you progress, you will develop a more technical understanding of healthcare systems and market access.

Required skills and experience

  • A real interest in healthcare innovation and the life sciences industry
  • Ability to take initiative and seek input from senior team members if required
  • High quality research and analytical skills, thorough attention to detail and evidence of consistent commitment to completing assigned tasks on time
  • Professionalism in interacting with colleagues and clients
  • Excellent drafting skills with a high level of English language proficiency with the ability to communicate competently with a range of audiences
  • Ability to work under pressure, across various fields and within tight deadlines, including willingness to work beyond conventional office hours where necessary
  • Capacity to contribute towards maintaining an enjoyable and friendly working environment.

Senior Consultant / Manager (full time role)

About the role

We are looking for a new core member of our team to manage a range of clients and projects, as well as to input into the running of the business. Some core responsibilities include:

  • Managing client accounts and implementation of client programmes, and handling day-to-day client activity
  • Overseeing and managing the work of team members on specific client accounts
  • Fulfilling client requests that are technical in nature, including market access writing, market assessments and technical policy work
  • Engaging with external stakeholders on a client’s behalf, including healthcare professionals and other key opinion leaders
  • Identifying and supporting business development initiatives; including representing Newmarket Strategy at competitive pitches and contributing to proposal development for prospective clients
  • Maintaining up to date knowledge of the NHS, UK healthcare and life science policy environment
  • Opportunity to contribute to thought leadership by writing copy for the website and other publications
  • Identifying and managing training and development needs in junior team members and provide on the job training and support as required.

Required skills and experience

  • A real interest in healthcare innovation and the life sciences industry
  • Ability to manage complex workstreams for multiple clients in the field of healthcare policy and market access
  • 3-4 years working in a healthcare or healthcare consultancy environment
  • In-depth knowledge of the UK healthcare landscape, such as in medicines, healthtech, digital health and health services & infrastructure
  • Some understanding of commercial priorities of the NHS and NICE decision-making processes, including health technology assessment (HTA)
  • Experience in external stakeholder engagement and professionalism in interacting with colleagues and clients
  • High quality research and analytical skills, including thorough attention to detail and completing assigned tasks on time
  • Excellent drafting skills with a high level of English language proficiency with the ability to communicate effectively with a range of internal and external audiences
  • Ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines
  • Ability to work within a small team in a collaborative way
  • Capacity to contribute to maintaining an enjoyable and friendly working environment.
